High School ASRA - July 15 - 26, 2013
Residential - 9th - 12th grade (grade in the fall)
Cost: Varies depending on module
High School ASRA is an intensive, two-week learning experience for students with an interest in science, technology, engineering and math. Students study one subject (module) and work in small teams participating in project based learning in a college-like environment. Students live in dorms on the UAF campus for this two week program. Some modules take students off campus to remote areas of Alaska for field work.
Module sizes are small with an average of eight students and two instructors. Our instructors are faculty, graduate students and industry professionals. There are no grades, tests or homework. Modules are designed to be fun and engaging while offering challenging content.
In its 13th year, admission to ASRA is competitive. Students who apply must complete an essay, provide references and show evidence of sincere interest in participation.
